Snow!
I hear its snowing mucho in ireland. Here in switzerland, theres plenty of that too. After two lessons, i got chucked in the deep water a bit too much. Went up the mountain to a blue slope and just couldnt do it. Glided for a bit, but couldnt turn and ended up falling so much that i lay at the side of the piste and cried. Then the instructer Rudy had to give in and let me walk down the rest of the way. Then i ate goulash. Also had minor panic moments on the gondola and chair lift. But at least ive learnt the basics! We also invented a cocktail called a Snow Job, which is coke, whiskey and snow. Yum.

Toe turning was my weakness in snowboarding but when I got that in the end, it was much more manageable! I need to invest in a bum pad the next time I go boarding - I always seem to bruise my tail bone..
Oh yeah, I hear ya. I have been stuck at the top of a glacier and cried and had to walk back down 4000 feet... while my pregnant friend whizzed down with my skis slung over her shoulder.
How. Embarrassing.
Today i am stuck on top of another mountain after yet again failing to get down a slope. No tears this time though. My ankle is totally fucked, as is my left knee. I think years of sports injuries dont make me the best candidate for snowboarding. Instead im sitting in a cafe right now, 2160 metres up looking at more able people. Amazing setting though. I would actually prefer to chill out than try to kill myself boarding. Will go get my ankle strapped today and see what tomorrow brings.
una my money was always on you to wreck yourself. check yourself into a lodge and drink yourself stupid. i too am not the best of skiiers....couldnt get passed the snow plow stage, so i took to the slopes at night on a piece of plastic and had a ball!
miss y'all
snowboarding definitely isn~t as easy as it looks!!!
Cool. I've never been skiiing, but I've always just presumed I'd be really good at it. As long as I don't ever try it, I'll always be really good at skiiing.
I've done a few of those two footed downhill descents myself. That said the first time out I was in jeans. I did make one mistake when going down on a four seater gondola once which you should avoid at all costs. I sat on the outside...and then no one else got on.
So it was completely unbalanced. I had to lean in for dear life then whole way down, and me completely able to 'appreciate the view
' as it descended. Couple with trying to make sure I didn't drop my skis as it coursed the runs and it still rates up there as one of the tensest journeys of my life.
Someday i'll be graceful enough to ski.
And the snow is mad cool right now!
HI,
My Name is Tommie Kelly, I'm from Ireland and I am the writer/artist/creator of a webcomic called Road Crew. It's a funny look at the life of the guys behind the scenes of a touring Rock Band. It has been online since early last year and updates five times a week. So far there are over 170 strips on line. You can find the comic at:
www.roadcrewcomic.com
Anyway, I am writing to you because I think this comic would be of interest to you and your readers. I am in the process of getting the word out on the comic to as many people as possible. Because of the topic and theme I think I can no only get comic readers interested but also band members and people who work in the music industry. Everyone likes music right?
The comic is mostly aimed at older readers and not kids. There is some nudity and adult language but other than that it's pretty suitable for all.
If you could give it a look over, maybe write a review, do an article or just let you readers know about it, that would be great.
In fact any feedback at all is most welcome.
If you need any other details or want to do an interview or whatever just give me an email.
Thanks in advance,
Tommie Kelly
I'll do a review of your comic if you want? It's BRUTAL. Average drawing - terrible "jokes". And you want Una to do an 'interview' with you? Why? So she can ascertain why you thought spamming such a popular blog with this rubbish would be a good idea?
redmickoten:
Haha, great review. Thanks for having a look at it even if you didn't like it.
It good to see that even when people hate the comic it still gets a big reaction out of them!
BTW It's not really spamming when Una says on her blog:
"please do not hesitate to contact me by commenting on this blog. Peace."
and the fact that each comment is moderated means that Una could have just deleted it.
If I did offend or annoy anyone with my comment I apologize. Feel free to delete it. Just trying my best to promote the comic.
Thanks
Tommie
