Attention friends: I dropped my phone down the toilet in the Front Lounge (by mistake) last night, so if you are trying to ring me, that is why you are not getting through.Despite several attempts to resuscitate it, it appears to have permanently passed away, aside from occasional fits of randomly turning itself on and squeaking and then freezing, vibrating and dying again.
Buy me a new phone now pls. kthxbai.

Trying to turn it on again so soon isn't a great idea! Leave it with the cover and battery out for a few days somewhere warm to dry out and then try it. It could already be damaged by trying to turn it on again before it's fully dry tho :/
I had a Nokia 6230 go through a full cycle in a washing machine a few years ago and it worked perfectly after three days drying out!
Eejit.
@ Cahony: thanks for the advice, will try it.
@ Tainer: fuck off you, you were the one who dragged me out in the first place.
Yeh kicking and screaming.
I know, right?
*tosses hair & opens bmw

Stop trying to make McGinty happen Una. ITS NEVER GOING TO TAKE OFF.
*sprints to district court to change name to McGinty by deed poll*
An ex of mine broke his phone by it falling out of his shirt pocket while puking up a bottle of JD into the loo.
....classy guy
Apparently place phone in a glass and fill up the glass with uncooked rice. The rice will dry out the phone. Heard about this trick on Phantom a few months ago.

interesting...
just buy a new phone !!!
put it in the hotpress for a few days be grand. oh in england its called an airing cupboard, i got alot of suspicious looks for calling it a hotpress. then they all laughed and i missed home :(
I second the hotpress idea - I dropped my phone into a full pint a couple of years ago, but surprisingly enough it came back to life after a day drying out in the hotpress - oddly enough its cider bath did it no harm at all!
