SoundCheck's New Year's Eve @ Spy was awesome, super busy, loads of great music, and plenty of cocktails and general funtimes. Big up to Rubberband, Le Cirque and Gossip for making it a brilliant way to end the year.I was DJing at midnight and played 'Sex on Fire' followed by 'It's The End Of The World As We Know It', which I thought summed up most people's feelings about 09 these days. Then again, it's obviously also a beginning, and I hope it rocks. Everytime shit falls apart, there's loads of opportunities to be creative and rebuilt between the cracks, so I'm hoping that's going to be a big element of this year, as our economy goes doowwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnn.
Anyway! Awards season is upon us. Does anyone have any more information about The Galas, 'the first annual NLGF Irish gay and lesbian awards'? Nominations started yesterday, according to the website.
Scooch over the the Blog Awards gaff to nominate.
The IFTAs will take place on February 14th in the Burlo. And the Choice Music Prize will reveal its shortlist on the 14th of this month.

I'm actually pretty excited about that element of 2009. Here's to hoping that something postive comes out of all this doom and gloom talk...
