Now that Glen has an Oscar, EVERYONE wants one. Along with the Paddy nod for 'In Bruges' (Original Screenplay), an Irish short called 'New Boy' based on a Roddy Doyle story about an African immigrant struggling to fit in at school is also up for Best Live Action Short Film.This is Doyle's second-ish Oscar nom. The Commitments was up for best editing, wasn't it?

saw this the other night on RTE it was pretty good. not as good as one called FRankie that was on a few ago but still really good.

Martin McDonagh is English.
Can I use the parents rule? Or the fact that everything McDonagh has produced is related to Ireland? Or the two Irish leads in the cast?
It's a matter of opinion, but I'd personally say no, no and no.
He's English, he wrote the screenplay by himself. Irish people can't take credit for that.
Nice to see Downey Jr nominated for Topic Thunder! Comedic performances usually don't get the respect they deserve.
