When myself, Meadzer, RoRo and Izzy were studying in Boston, we used to go to an 80s and 90s night on Tuesdays (I think) in Allston. For some reason, Meadzer's favourite song from that time - which was played every week - has been cropping up loads lately. So I feel compelled to have a time machine moment.
On our first or second visit there, I stupidly challenged J-Wolf to a whiskey drinking competition, which she of course completely beat me at, and then proceeded to laugh at me, and drink a bottle of Jaeger which was stored in her bag while I was in a heap on the floor.
It was also the scene of a time Izzy drank a litre of 100 proof vodka, after her boyfriend went home, which had more 'heap on the floor' consequences.
It was also there that I discovered Stolichnaya with a little bit of soda water is a great, great drink.
After about a month of partying away at the club myself and Meadzer had a really dumb Homer Simpson @ the She-She Bar moment when we realised that the reason loads of chicks were flirting with us was that it was a lesbian night, or let's say, attracted a big lesbo contingent. It just goes to show how trashed we were anytime we went there that it took us multiple visits to cop on to that. Suffice to say, that realisation made it an even more entertaining night out.
I think this is the night in question, but can't be sure.
Anyway, here's the song that takes me back to that time:

Ah Stolichnaya = hazy fun times.
Best drunk as a 'mad dog.' Stolichnaya, a few dashes of tabasco sauce and raspberry syrup.
Shouldn't work but tastes great as I've discovered after a recent trip in the mountains of Poland.
"But she only comes when she's on top"
I think that lyric led to it being banned from being played on the BBC, could be wrong about though, either way it ensured it got fuck all airplay.
Great tune, I love it.
think they had to change the 'comes' line to 'sings' in the video.
Yeah, that sounds more like it, it was something to do with the video alright.
Anyway, that song has no business at an 80s night.
I think they used it in a couple of the American Pie movies as well.
You think you were oblivious? The first night I stayed in New Orleans on my J1 I went looking for a place to shoot some pool. We ended up in a gay bar in the French quarter without realising that it was a gay bar and played pool for about an hour. My friends figured out the deal before I did, I only copped when an easily 350lb black "woman" tried to get by me as I was lining up a shot and said "excuse me baby" in a voice that would make Barry White proud before walking into the gents. We played a couple more games then headed home but when the door shut behind us as we left I'm certain I heard the whole place burst out laughing, there wasn't many folks in there and I think they got some enjoyment out of the pig ignorant Micks.
Butch Walker does a ridiculous good Laid cover leading into his own song Taste Of Red:
