Music sharing is as old as music itself. People who download music buy more records, go to more gigs, and buy more music merchandise than those who do not. The recent phenomonan of online music sharing has been credited to the ongoing resurgance in the live music scene across our world, and the increasing successes of 'indie' or 'underground' bands. Videogum is brilliant isn't it. Kanye should be so lucky. Why do straight men assume that if they are glanced at by a gay man that they will be sucked in by their tracker beam and the next thing they know they are entering into a civil partnership and picking out sofa fabric..
He THINKS he's respecting gays but really that is hideously offensive.
Kanye just fits the gay stereotype so well that I think he's constantly freaked out by being labelled as a gay man.
Terence Dean's book 'Hiding in Hip Hop: On The Down Low in the Entertainment Industry', covers those kind of attitudes pretty well.
For a man that is not strictly hetrosexual to talk about gay men like that stikes me as someone who is either trying to out himself or is very confused or perhaps both.
