Can't wait, hopefully it's half way as good as the book. The second best sports book ever written I would say

The book is superb, brilliant insight into the paranoid, obsessive world of Mr. Cough.

I haven't read the book, must check it out.

@ nooneshoutedstop: what's your best sports book ever written?

It looks pretty awesome. Clough was a diamond football movie waiting to happen.

The best in my opinion would be "Friday Night Lights", A sports book at the heart of it, but is as much about the boom and bust of a oil town in texas. Some of the money that people burned through in Odessa was unbeliveble. Also looks seriously at the racism in the area, especially when the star black player does his knee in can't really play anymore and one of the "Fans" of the team remarks he might as well be shot like a horse is now.

Is it just me or is Michael Sheen getting typecast into playing 'real' people. That Underworld sequel appears to be the only exception.

Also on sports books, I'd definitely rate Friday Night Lights up there, probably put Moneyball (following the fortunes of the Oakland A's and general manager Billy Beane over the course of a year) alongside it. Moneyball one of the most influential works (at least in terms of impact on a sport) of modern times, though FNL is a more gripping story.
