Chipped tooth a couple of months ago. Had a bit of a toothache at the weekend. Woke up this morning with V bad toothache. After practically ODing on painkillers, ring 7 dentists in town - nobody will see me. Throw strop. Ring Tainer Bang to complain. Convince FionnTimes to give me his codeine. Torment colleagues with moaning. Ring sister. Ring sister's dentist/surgeon/maxo-something-complicated/doctor husband. Go to dental hospital. Worrying tapping on tooth, hmmming, x-rays, poking around, forms, and remarks including "you have very big tonsils."
Finally they breezily say I have to get root canal McGinty horror-fest done in the morning.
CRYSIES.
CRYSIES.

ohhhh good luck! I had to get root canal on my front tooth after I roller-bladed into a pillar... It was a particularly fucked up procedure because I pushed the tooth back into my gum when I bashed it so I had to go for a million appointments - it was covered by govt coz I was underage. If I was to get it done now it'd cost a small fortune because of the sheer amount of times I had to go back...
Hope it isn't as bad as my time with root canal.
The scariest thing about this kind of treatment is the price. Head North Una and you will save a complete fortune. Dental charges in the south are a bloody take on. With the euro/sterling exchange rate you will save at least three hundred euro.
mcginty! iany just had one done and he said it was fine!
@ Dave Dove: yup, I'm getting the second stage of it done in the North. WAY cheaper.
Hey Una, how'd the 1st stage go after? I got a tooth ache on Wednesday and had remembered seeing your post so went to the Dental Hosp too... 1st stage root canal this morning, not so much fun, but it was either that or lose the tooth... Now to find a dentist in Dublin to do the follow-ups.
Yeah i had one done, its not sore or anything. I got it done up North works out alot cheaper, just make sure you have your ticket bought before you have to go up and make a dick out of yourself asking for a ticket to Dublin while your gums are very swollen.
