There's a bit of banter on this post about the relationship between Bodytonic and John Reynolds moving further apart since the Bodytonic halting site dance village at Electric Picnic didn't go as planned.
Now Bodytonic are set to take over Traffic on Middle Abbey Street, and rename it (for some reason) Twisted Pepper. It will be interesting to see whether they can lure (non-Spirit) clubbers to Middle Abbey Street and rejuvinate the venue, and kick out some of the gangsters who have been chilling there in the past few years.
So, what can we expect from Twisted Pepper? Well, there's not much info around apart from a few acts who will play there, some who are well known, others not so much; Meat Katie (Oct 3rd) Drop The Lime (Oct 16th) Tittsworth (Oct 17th), Rob Hall (Oct 25th), Benga (Nov 14th), Martelo (Nov 21st), Beardyman (Nov 28th), and some DEAF gigs.
There's not website up for the venue yet, unless you count this fine online retail store for Twisted Pepper in Wylie, Texas: "get cookin' the sweet 'n' sassy way," they say. Hmm.

It think the move of bodytonic’s Thursday and Friday night to twisted pepper will work, seeing the success they made with Bernard Shaw. They have the ability to do a good job with it. As for the acts lined up it looks very promising especially with Martelo(santogolds dj) and the likes of switch, drop the lime, radioclit etc playing soon. While these names might not be as big as acts the likes of spy/mcd bring over bodytonic was never really bout the massive names(with massive ticket prices as a result) with bt concentrating on new acts. I can remember seeing the likes of the tings tings ,klaxons and spank rock playing their debut Irish shows for bodytonic so their booking has always been great on that regard.
In regards EP to be honest I don’t think I have ever enjoyed the bodytonic line up at the previous ep, while the 05 set up for bt was the best. The line up has always disappointed, as one friend described last years line up as a “mid nineties wet dream”
This year had the tent been in say red of where the cinema tent is it would have been a different story.
As for jr getting annoyed by twisted pepper in a industry where long term rental of venues is unheard of 4 years in Pod venues is exceptional and I’m sure promoters are lining up to get pod/crawdaddy on Friday/Saturday.
Didn't realise they were leaving The Pod totally.
Martelo should be good alright. Saw Drop the Lime in Kennedy's ages ago too - pretty savage.
Didn't realise they were leaving The Pod totally. - I said that a few times in the other post (sorry, this is 'anonymous' from the original post - it's all getting very confusing)
who is this mystery 'anonymous'?!
not leaving pod altogether, the saturday nite pogo will stay their, (this is anonymous from the first post here, wouldn't let me put a username in earlier)
