Millionaire Boyz

The debut record 'Like A Millionaire' from Dublin hip hop crew Millionaire Boyz is out now. They play The Ambasssador on July 11th.

Listening to the record at the mo, the track 'Dublin' is pretty good, although it's a pity that lyrically they resort to the same guns 'n' coke drill on some tracks, which is just boring at this stage.

You may have seen Millionaire Boyz support Republic of Loose at the recent Academy residency.

US Hip-Hop legend Styles P is flying into Ireland to perform this Saturday at Eamonn Dorans and with Republic of Loose at Oxegen this Sunday. Although he is not widely known in Ireland, it's a very different story in America and the UK. In the late ninetys Styles P, Sheek and Jadakis formed the group LOX which stands for "Living Off Xperience" and signed to Bad Boy Records. There, they began recording songs with Notorious BIG and Sean(Puffy)Combs. In 1998 The Lox released Money, Power, Respect which gave them their first major US hit song "Money, Power, Respect" feat. fellow Bad Boy, "Lil Kim" and Ruff Ryder Earl "DMX" Simmons.
In 2001, LOX released the album 'Kiss tha Game Goodbye' which debuted at No.5 on the Billboard Top 100. Produced by Timbaland and The Neptunes, the album features guest vocals from Snoop Dog, Pharrell and Nas. The single 'Knock Yourself Out' went top 40 on the Billboard singles chart.
In 2002 Styles P release his first solo album 'A Gangster and a Gentleman' This included the single "Good Times (I Get High)", which peaked at #22 and was one of the most played songs of 2002 in the US. Styles then released a series on MIXTAPES. These were originally only released on the streets of New York but soon spread nationwide and cemented Styles P as one of the foremost Rappers of his generation. In 2004 Styles featured on the Akon track 'Locked Up' which went to No.8 in the US singles chart and No.5 in the UK singles chart. In 2006 Styles Remixed the Mariah Carey track 'We Belong Together' which then went to No.1 in the US and No.3 in the UK.
Aswell as featuring on albums by Ghostface Killer and The Roots Styles P took time out in January 2008 to record vocals on the Republic of Loose song 'I Like Music' taken from the new Republic of Loose album 'VOL IV:Johnny Pyro And The Dance Of Evil'.

Styles P will be performing at Eamonn Dorans this Saturday July 12th. Doors 11pm Admission €20. Also performing on the night are NU CENT, Millionaire Boyz, Spit Fire, Bitter Rocc, Leiko, MC Mighty & Jennifer and Johnny Boy. DJ's include DJ Frank Jez(FM104), DJ Ahmed(Kiss FM) and DJ Eddy(Reggae Family). Styles will also be joined onstage by some of his Irish friends at Eamonn Dorans. Then it's off to Oxegen on Sunday to Perform with Republic of Loose on the O2 stage at 19.35pm.
