The Village last night

Went to the Sonikpollen launch at the Village last night. I still don't know what Sonikpollen REALLY is. Seriously, how hard is it to get an explanation?

Anyway, Leanne Harte played first and she RAWKED it. Seriously good stuff. Last time I saw her was about five years ago at the Vibe for Philo in Vicar Street. She was 15 then.

I was so hungy, so me and YoCo and Lili and Steveo went to Empty Pockets across the road for some bacon and cheese fries. Liquid cheese, so goooooood.

Then we came back to watch The Kinetiks who seem to be getting stronger with every gig they play. 'A Smile'd Crack Your Face' is a VERY catchy song. You can listen to it on their Bebo page.

Photee as always by Minky Von Faberge

sonikpollen is not a pay to play system, 1st of all it was a launch party for us which we paid for entirely. also this is great media exposure for artists we choose to work with. bands do not get charged a penny unlike other organisations who do. also sonikpollen delivers audio & video worldwide to 5oo+ stores which includes itunes blah blah.we serve hundreds of uk record labels for delivery as well as opening up our services to include bands. we hope that the negative begrudging attitude of the irish sector changes in the forseeable future, especially when the show was free to the public via the bands guest lists etc. we also sent tons of press to the show of which leanne harte has been seen in the sunday indepenent /hotpress mag of which we helped put her there at no cost to the artists. now for this pay 2play scam you discuss/firstly get your facts right, also understand this industry, because it is comments like this that makes us rethink our free media policy in helping ungrateful bands succeed in the real world. again we deal with record labels, we hope that out of contract artists in ireland looking at our systems with full reporting & trackingto tools, will take advantage of this to further their careers. finally stay postive, your negative comments do a disservice to ireland and other hard working artists who piggy back our media for free.
ps
for some reason uk out of contract artists appear to be much more pro active and positive etc, i hope you had a great time at the free show that sonikpollen set up for you to enjoy

take care
