Sarah Silverman had a bit of a go at her after the performance, and there are now mutterings that Britney knew what silverman was going to say and was pissed off so that's why her performance was off...though I don't believe this.
I think Silverman is a bit much in general.....and Britney, for that matter...
I like Sarah Silverman. She's probably one of the funniest people on the planet, but I don't like when she does the award stuff. Her normal stand up is much better.
Silverman is a rare breed: a genuinely funny female comedian.
Highlight was Kanye West's reaction to not winning any of the five awards he was nominated for.
He will never return to MTV.
"It's Britney, bitch".

A good freestylin' rap from K-Fed would have been much better. K-Fed also unblocks your sinuses and eliminates catarrh.
I like a lot of Silvermans stand up but i think her monologue at the VMAs was pretty rubbish - not funny, borderline offensive - offensive. She said Britneys kids were "as cute as the hairless vagina they came out of" I think the only reason people were laughing was because she said vagina (heh heh heh)
Maybe she was just on whatever Britney was on.....
Awful, but better than I expected.
I spent the whole 3 minutes cringing as I waited for the ever increasing rattling, bending wheels and bolts to just come flying off the whole thing and I was strangely relieved and satisfied that they didn't. In a sort of 'any landing you can walk away from is a good one' kind of way.
That entire awards show was straight pathetic. Get it together MTV. I'm still confused why they have Video Music Awards. They don't even PLAY videos over here anymore.
Brit Brit doesn't care if her performance sucks. She rakes in almost $800K PER MONTH by being a trashy piece of crap.
Still, the song's not bad...
Any song that centres around an impassioned entreaty for an increase in the amount of mickey money doled out for two sprogs will always tug on my heartstrings.

I'm not sure if the crowd's cheer/applause at the end meant "thank God that's over" or "let's be nice to the poor woman". Perhaps a little from column A and a little from column B.

I thought Silverman's routine afterwards was pretty low and sick. If Brit knew what she was going to say then I think the rumour that she may have sabotaged her own appearance for that reason could be true. Silverman's routine was obviously scripted in advance.
