This was Diarmuid summing up the finale of the Sopranos this morning. The series, and by default my life, is over. CRYSIES. When the screen went black I honesty thought I'd stepped on the remote or something.
Laney's favourite song of all time is Journey - 'Don't Stop Believing', so this is what she took from it as if it vindicates all of her music taste. 'Tis a choon though.

I may have to start watching 'Dexter' now.

Dunno whether that ending was an awful mistake or a stroke of absolute genius...one thing it does is leave the door open for a movie...
I downloaded the series as it was broadcast in the States as I didn't want to wait and I have the same opnion of he ending now that I had then.
It was genius, that final scene was so tense I was waiting for someone to ice Tony, and I think Tony was as well. And that's what his life is going to be like from now on. He'll be suspicious of everyone because they're coming for him, either it'll be the Feds to arrest him, some other hood to whack him or maybe he'll just wind up in a home like Junior if he's lucky.
Oh and absolutely start watching Dexter, I downloaded the first series last week and I'm on episode 4 now. Michael C. Hall is amazing in it. Episode 2 is a bit pants.

I was angry at the start, but now I'm coming around to this point of view. There's just so much left to dissect. First I thought he had been killed because remember him and Bobby had that conversation at the lake saying something like 'when you die, it just goes black and you don't hear a thing', but I suppose the song choice is kind of hopeful - a life goes on sentiment, with his real family around him.
unless the song is a message to Carmella ... it starts right as she walks in the door. He got whacked by the guy coming out of the jacks...
By the way, love the still frame of the scene that makes it look like the last supper.

The imagery through the whole episode was fantastic. I think he was whacked. Chase wanted 30 seconds of black and they gave him 10.
Dexter is hmmm. It got crap fast in my view and then got better again towards the end of season 1.
I didn't like how quickly AJ was bought out - it's a bit far fetched.
There's no reason for Tony to be whacked. Phil is dead, balance had been brought to the force.
