Nine Inch Nails cancel Irish performance

No sooner than it was announced that Nine Inch Nails would be supporting Foo Fighters (wtf? etc) at the Marlay Park BudRising gig on August 22nd, Trent and co have pulled their performance.

Although the date is still up on the Nine Inch Nails website, promoters MCD said NIN "will not be performing" and have offered no explanation as to why the support slot was pulled.

The gig was set to be the last date on NIN's current tour. Perhaps NIN will now book a headlining show in Ireland?

Hi. On the subject of NIN and relating it to the Belverdere post below about beautiful settings for festivals, I highly recommend Rock Oz Arenes in Avenches, Switzerland.

NIN have been confirmed at the spectacular venue - about an hour from Geneva - on Wednesday 15 August. (See link on name for info)

BTW Great blog

PS I'm in Dublin for first time in ages this Thurs-Saturday. Any current favourite indie-ish clubs you care to recommend?

Hi Adi

If you email murphyslive@real-event.ie, they'll give you free tickets to The Immediate's gig in Whelan's.

The Things are playing the Music Centre too which should be good.

For a more chilled pub with good music on a Thursday, I'd recommend Dice Bar in Smithfield.

Seemingly it's back on now, at least according to the first link you posted. It's disgraceful that the Foo Fighters get to headline; NIN haven't played here for years and could easily draw a massive crowd.
