Kings Of Leon: Because Of The Times

I cannot stress how in love with this album I am. KOL are a hugely underrated band, and they've just made their best record yet. The last two albums had a couple of knock out hits on them and the rest was just fine, but every track on this is brilliant. Plus, there's a real eclecticism about it too. You have quieter 80-ish tracks like 'On Call' and 'Ragoo', and then there are really screaming rawkus tunes like 'My Party'. In an era of American rock music where everyone seems to be referencing Springsteen, KOL have just kept their heads down, stuck to their sound and developed the fringes of how they write songs and come up with a complete album.

Trivia: 'Because Of The Times' is a Pentecostal minister's conference held annually.

Dear Auntie Una,

I've always thought KOL are pretty shite. However if I ignore the lyrics of their new single I've found myself thinking "this is a really good song" whenever I've heard it on the radio.

Please advise,

Yours,

Konfused in Kildare

Diagnosis: fandom

Seriously, 'On Call' is an amazing song, and the album is great. Just buy it when it comes out and enjoy.
