bit rubbish innit?
yeah. Pet Shop Boys: good but everything else is a bit meh. I'm all for Irish acts playing festivals, but most of those guys don't sell out small venues in town (even though they're good.)
Pricey too.
How does this bode for EP I wonders?
no effect really. Sure it was on last year too.
reckon way more acts will be announced still..
yeah, of course, but it is a small event, you can't really expect loads of big acts.
I meant it doesn't really show much POD booking power vs. the lineup last year or its just that my taste buds aren't liking the lineup. Time yet tho I guess. Anyhew all I want is a NIN gig. After that anything is a bonus.
'Tis a poor line-up alright, but last years launch line-up was no great shakes either if you remember, while the event itself turned out to be a bloody great day out... well, aside from the bar closing at 10 thereby ensuring I was semi-sober, demented and in need of a hug or a bed come the end of it.
On a completely different note, I wonder how many of the line-up will die before the event? They had a bit of a reggae superstar curse last year didn't they what with Toots falling seriously ill and Dekkar popping his zoot shoes?
all I can say is that it must be pretty tough to be booking events like this in such a competative environment.
well...depends on definition of "big acts"...last year they had the best dance lineup of any of the summer festivals by a long long way, and in general a pretty strong lineup...
seems like a rushed press release...
