The Week That's In It...

Once again, a truly busy work week is causing me to neglect the blogging world. Darn.

Went to see Rollers/Sparkers at the Globe on Tuesday. These guys are excellent - really intense electronica, kind of reminiscent of Matt Elliot's stuff, so check out the mp3s on their site. The gig they did for Vibrator @ The Globe this week was the last time to catch them live in a good while - I'm told their heading into the vortex that is second-album-studio-time.

Went to see Walk The Line with Sarah and Adrian last night. What a great movie - Phoenix and Witherspoon are amazing, I can't believe they got the voices so near perfect. On the flip side to this, PR companies for the movie and for Johnny Cash 'Best Of' boxsets are paying buskers to play Johnny Cash songs to covertly promote the movie and CDs. Talk about hijacking the undercrowd. What a bunch of losers. If you're a busker - DON'T TAKE THE CASH!

Clap Your Hands Say Blag: off to see Clap Your Hands Say Yeah tonight in the Village, really looking forward to seeing these guys live, as we all know by now the album is awesome. Big shout out to Michael & Peter @ V2 and Declan Forde for sortng out the guestlist for me and Lili. If you're down there tonight, have a good time.

Don't for get to check out the new gig and album reviews on Ireland's best indie webzine Cluas. And if you're based wherever, these guys are always looking for article and review submissions, so don't be shy about it.

Have a good weekend folks - more mp3s and band news coming soon...

Yo Quigo. I would SO love to, but I think I'll have to stay Europe-side for the birth of my niece/nephew and go to Sonar in Barcelona instead.
