I am such a dumbass, the Bleedin Bleedins were here all weekend, and I didn't get one photee of them - even though I brought my camera to the gig! D'oh.
On Friday night, I hopped down to Crawdaddy to check out King Creosote and Adrian Crowley who was supporting. Two great sets, later, me, Sarah, David, Adrian, the lovely John McCallion and some of the King Creosote boys were drinking in this random secret elevated room in Crawdaddy that I had never noticed before. The balcony over looked the patio outside the Pod and Adrian decided the best thing to do to annoy all the people smoking outside would be to attach a self-protecting cage to oneself, with a mini fan sticking out of it, and piss towards the fan which would then shower all the people below. I dunno, it seemed like a smart idea at the time.
Saturday night was all about The Bleedin Bleedins who played in the Hub. The sound was a bit fucked up, but the sings (from their upcoming record 'Life Without Computers') shined through as always. Kill City Defectors supported, and I think it's my first time seeing them live (although I vaguely recall partying with them at Nemo in Boston). They were excellent - total party music. Their new single is called 'So Lo' if you can get your hands on it. After the Hub was Whelan's which was crowded and gross as usual. Still being sober Una, I took an early night and left at around two.
The next day, the Bleedins played an accoustic set in Tower Records which went down really well. After which, we basked in the glory of limited edition Bleedin Bleedin match books. Dave gave me a CD of the new album which has a really sweet thank you to me in the sleeve. Such nice boys! Then, we went for coke floats. Sarah joined us, reminding everyone of the forfeit of our bet (me and Sarah have a history of dumb bets - never for money - placed solely on Manchester United V Liverpool matches). I tried to talk her out of making me go through with this one (nipple piercing) to no avail. Sarah, you are cruel, cruel, cruel.
Saying goodbye to the Bleedins for another couple of months, me and Foxy went DVD shopping. I bought some good shit - The Dogtown and the Z Boys and Lord of Dogtown boxset, Secretary, Spinal Tap and Grease. Oh. Yeah.
Now it's Monday morning, and I'm in work. Which is why this post is so long. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
