Lazybird this Sunday @ The International (Wicklow St)

PIRATIO

Piratio is the sound sculpturing alter-ego of Barry Prendergast, from Galway... Comparisons are hard to pick, but a jumping-off point (of sorts) might be, on the one hand, the strange enveloping noises that Kevin Shields excels at (when he's not guitar-chugging), or on the other, the austere compositions of Arvo Part, Kaffe Matthews or Labradford. Barry has done visuals (as Eyedrenalin) for the Mor Festival, Digital Bubblebath and loads of other stuff.

MIRAKIL WHIP

Mirakil Whip are Aaron Coyne (guitar, effects, vocal) and Annemarie Deacy (beats, groovebox, sampler, keys). Since their formation in late 2004, this Galway duo have played alongside some of Ireland's most interesting acts and have over 2005 captured the imagination of audiences with their unique blend of experimental guitar-driven synth-electro.
