Massive Attack will headline Electric Picnic in September
As for Oxegen, The Who and Red Hot Chilli Peppers will headline.
They will be joined on July 8 and 9 by:
Kaiser Chiefs
Arctic Monkeys
Sigur Ros
Primal Scream
Felix Da Housecat
The Strokes
Franz Ferdinand
Bell X1
Manu Chao
Richard Ashcroft
Damian Marley
David Morales
more to come...
Tickets for the festival go on sale on Friday 3 March and they're priced at €69.50 (one day), €130 (two day) and €160 (two day with camping). A new bastardo charge of €20 will sting anyone who wants to leave their car over night. Ridiculous.

Big question - where are the Smashing Pumpkins in this equation?

Re: Big question #1.
I'll sign that petition.
Big question #2:
Where are JJ72 in this equation?
mcd would be mad to put the pumpkins in the oxegen lineup when it'll sell out anyway and be voted no.1 festival again by readers of the sun no matter who plays. Pumpkins will be playing Lansdowne or Marlay Park surely?
that is a shit lineup...
any other news on whos playing EP with Massive Attack?
-Aidan
....rumours of a radiohead marley park gig....
yes anon, let's hope the JJs rock EP for a second time.
There's a bunch of rumours about EP floating around Aidan. In a previous post people were talking about Depeche Mode and Broken Social Scene. A little birdy also mentioned Antony & The Johnsons to me. I'll have more accurate info when I'm allowed to say it!
More Electric Picnic Bands:
Super Furry Animals and Broken Social Scene are definately playing (BSS are also playing a gig @ Vicar St May 18)
There's a strong rumour that Radiohead might make it too.
Other names being thrown up on various message boards at the minute are:
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Pretty Girls Make Graves
The Pharcyde
Constantines
Weezer
DJ Shadow
The Raconteurs
The Decemberists
Another little birdie on Cluas.com seems certain that all these peeps are playing:
DJ Shadow
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Gary Numan
Antony & The Johnsons
Massive Attack
Wilco
Amadou & Mariam
looks like that's building into a nice little line-up. Doncha think?
If Yeah Yeah Yeahs are playing, I might just have to wet myself. All we need now to make UNA'S DREAM FESTIVAL is Courtney Love, MC Solaar and Jay-Z.
here's a few more being thrown around on hotpress.com
Groove Armada
Art Brut
MF Doom
New Pornographers
King Creosote
MIA
Suburban Kids With Biblical Names
U-Roy
Red Neck Manifesto
DJ Krush
Caustic PhleX
Destroyer
Fingathing
Husky Rescue
yeah yeah yeahs i reckon will prob play at one of the festival....they're on tour...
i would say there is no chance on radiohead playing at ep, too much $ for a small festival....i would keep an eye on marley park for gigs in august....say there will be a few big names there....
just opinions btw...no insider knowledge....
thanks remedy
regardless of the line up, EP is just a great buzz anyway, gonna have a bigger lost vagueness and stuff like that too.
on a completely unrelated note, remember how good pass the parcel used to be? what a great game
fuckin A Quigo.
I nominate you to ressurect Pass The Parcel. Actually, it's also quite a good name for a band.
i'd copyright that name if my band wasn't already called sky marshall
If the the Yeah Yeah Yeah's show up I'll be at EP even if I have to sell body parts to fund the collection for the ticket price.
just don't sell your ears
just sell your ass
ba-dum-cha!
shouldn't it be, 'ba-dum-ching'?
