A 'Boutique Festival' for MCD (now where did they get that idea?)

While there’s been no official word from the Denis Desmond camp, it’s understood that the two-day Hi-Fi bash will take place at Belvedere House near Mullingar on August 5 and 6.

Located on the shores of Lough Ennell, the 18th century hunting and fishing lodge is surrounded by 160 acres of parkland and is already used for classical musical events.

Over 100 acts are expected to play on five-stages, with an “executive accommodation” area catering for motor homes.

Hi-Fi is one of the brand names devised by the UK’s Godskitchen organisation, which was recently bought by MCD and also runs the Global Gathering.

Let the battle commence.

with the name gods kitchen associated with it i think they would alienate the very audience they are trying to go for. apperantely there is a radio soulwax arena at it too and the headliners are ian brown and faithless.

but still another festival in ireland cant be a bad thing, except i dont think mcd could put on a serious rival to EP

Electric Picnic better get the finger out announcing some seriously good acts, or there mightn't be many takers other than those who are heading to the fest JUST BECAUSE it is Electric Picnic.

boutique festivals arent anything new....the jazz cafe picnic was running a year or two before electric picnic...

cant see mcd having scum bag acts on that hi fi line-up....if they are doing the whole 'boutique' buzz, they will only put acts on that are like that...they're not that stupid (i think)....either way, its nice to see sooo many good acts playing over here...be it at oxegen, electric picnic wherever....
