listening to: 'I Was On The Moon' - Apollo Sunshine
Finally saw Harry Potter on Friday with Laney. IT ROCKS! Definately the best movie interpretation so far. And how hot is Viktor Krum! Also, how bad is Hermione's 'acting'? Katie Holmes circa 'First Daughter' comes to mind.
So I was feeling a bit sick after work on Saturday, and freaked out that I was getting my regular Winter illness. So I ignored it. I calling into Sarah for sickness advice she said "whiskey." More Irish than the Irish themselves at this stage, Fox. First stop was the Ha'penny Bridge Inn (which is soon to be the scene of my stand-up debut. How do I get myself into these things?) with Tadhg and his friends. Tiger assigned me "a mission", which in his language is to determine what C-list celebrity is in our company. The clue (there's always a clue) was 'prominant Irish movie and Charlize Theron'). The answer - which, I may add, I got surprisingly swiftly - was a star of 'About Adam'. Una 1 - 0 Tadhg.
listening to: 'Echoes' - The Rapture
Then it was on to the Morrison for some frozen strawberry margaritas (later to be seen in reverse). Then to Dragon where I bumped into the lovely Quentin from el Tribuna.
Patient Corina waited for me on Dame street as we headed to The Hacker in the Temple Bar Music Centre. AWESIMO. Everyone was on top form, the place was packed and the choons were bangin. The rest of the night turned into a taxi hunt and party via other very random events that this blog is censoring. Courtesy of the TOO RANDOM censor bill 2005. I'm still tired. But the sickness is gone! Not from whiskey, but Long Island Ice Teas in Dragon. Totally fixed it - note to Advil.

Meteor Launch and band news
listening to: Dolly Parton - 'After The Goldrush'
Me and Corina went to a press lunch today for the Meteor Music Awards. Yummy steak and red wine and yummier cheese cake. Nothing much happened, it was just fun to chill and chat with my homie Yoko . The Immediate (one of my favourite Irish bands) are nominated for best new Irish band or something, you can check out their stuff on www.theimmediate.tv . Other nominations in the category were 8Ball who are cool and signed to Lakota and Leya, who are friends with The Bleedin Bleedins so obviously, they rock. The rest of the nominations are here:
listening to: Talking Heads - 'Once In A Lifetime'
Oh, I missed The National gig @ Whelan's on Saturday night, but there are reports of it here . I did meet to very lovely people on the NiteLink (Jovan and Emma) who informed me it was fantastic - 'Abel' being a highlight and with the band chuffed at the reaction from the usually very annoying Whelan's crowd.
In other news, the NME Brats Tour is coming to Belfast and Dublin in January. Bands confirmed so far are Maximo Park and Arctic Monkeys. If anyone knows who else is playing, TELL ME!
LOST play in Crawdaddy tonight. You love them.
listening to: Laura Veirs - 'Icebound Stream'
Kylie Minogue is releasing a download only single on Christmas Day, the optimistic 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'.
Zat is all.

Launches by the bucket and Burco comes to town
listening to The Doors - 'The End'
This week has been a bit busy. Wednesday was the launch of Stephen Collins' book on the PDs called 'Breaking The Mould'
Isabel and eye ate a lot of biscuits at that one.
And then last night was Gabriel Rosenstock's launch of a collection of his stuff. If you like haiku, then you should really read some Rosenstock.
Last night, ahh, still recovering a wee bit. BURCO is home for the weekend!!!! So me and Lili met her in the Stags Head, and then on to Bankers where Eabha joined us, and then on to The George where Iano joined us, and later Corina and Daniella (might be spelling that name wrong). So, lots and lots of dancing followed by yummy kebabs from Zaytoons. AND AND AND Burco got me a bra made out of little candies! Awesome is, awesome does.
listening to: Grand Drive - 'I Won't Let You Down'
Lili took some photees back in her place last night, so hopefully I can steal them soon and share.
Rock.
